Commodore SID examples #1

There are quite a few songs that were played on the C64 SID chip that I really liked. For instance, I was a huge fan of Forbidden Forest, particularly around the 20 second mark:

Or the fantastic (for the time) voice at the beginning of “Ghostbusters”. This is particularly difficult because the samples had to be converted into FM synthesis and the formants emulated rather than played back:

The beginning music of Gyruss is pretty sweet, too. A hardcore remix of “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” by Johann Sebastian Bach:
