Why did these folks form a band? I know they’re new wave, but every song I’ve heard from them annoys me. “I know what boys like…” I mean, really… do boys like them? They also have a Christmas song that ruins the holidays for 3 minutes, every time it’s on. While I respect the late lead singer, Patty Donahue for her work with Alice Cooper, the robotic nature of her work on The Waitresses left me feeling as much of a zombie as the delivery.
In that “I know what boys like” song, they actually sing the lyric “Nya-nya-nya-nya-nya”:
Just wow.
